The Future of Education
School is the base of all knowledge that children get exposed to. Education gives students the chance to grow and pick up valuable information on various subjects that will help shape their minds and of course teach them skills. For many young children school challenges them to think outside of the box and to learn the importance of education but the school also allows young children to socialize, make new friends, and most importantly play! Since 2020 many students had to quickly stop going to school where they could sit in class and play with friends, to a difficult transition of learning from home. This transition was difficult for many students as they had to learn technology skills they may not have had before. Students were expected to attend school at a normal time but with a catch, they had to do it from home in their room or kitchen. Many parents experienced not having the right technology like a good computer and a strong enough internet connection, something many families didn’t need before COVID hit.
The pandemic hit hard putting a lot of students in a stressful situation but luckily here in Grants Pass, the amazing teachers and parents have taken the extra steps to provide hands-on learning along with being safe. The Grants Pass School District will now offer individualized counseling to guide students through their programs! With support and passion towards education like this students will now be able to feel more comfortable with their online learning. Grants Pass School District has been making huge steps to open up for in-person learning but not all parents and students are comfortable with that yet. The district’s goal is to create a new online platform that will be more accessible and can assist with individualized needs a student may have. School officials are even preparing a new curriculum that will be more focused on skills and standard-based. This new curriculum will allow students to work at their own pace, they’re even organizing hands-on opportunities in career technical education. With this new curriculum, individualized learning, and career-focused opportunities Grants Pass School District will be able to help form young student’s ideas, goals, and futures by providing a more engaging educational experience that will give them lifelong skills.
